I had known Jeffrey as a fellow member of the Colorado Human Resources Association, but had never spent much time with him. I knew he ran a compensation consulting firm, but didn't know much more. He invited me to lunch, and afterwards I began hiring him to do compensation research for my executive career clients. This was my thank you for lunch.

Dear Jeffrey,
As a consultant, it's seldom that I get taken to lunch--usually I'm the one doing the buying. I appreciate the gesture of friendship--the food was terrific. I'm looking forward to finding ways we can work together.
