Any time a potential client visits your offices, it's a big deal. In the privacy of your office you can really be yourself, and you can have quiet, interrupted conversation. Besides, by being there, the prospect is saying, "I'm a buyer." After an executive stopped by to learn about our services, I sent this brief note.
You don't have to be Shakespeare or Robert Frost to write something like this. Just be sure it's legible, hand-addressed, and finished off with an interesting stamp.
