Ladies/Gentlemen:
I would like to express my interest in the position of real estate attorney with your company. I believe my background in acquisitions and in securities would compliment the goals established by your company.
My experience in land acquisitions and securities is the result of my tenures with Amoco Petroleum Company, Texaco Oil Company, and in private practice. The areas, in which I have had substantial experience and responsibility, include:
- Team participation in the acquisition of companies valued respectively at $18 million and $40 million dollars.
- Drafting of purchase and sales agreements for properties valued at $500 thousand dollars to $1 million dollars.
- Title examination and curative.
- Negotiation and drafting of contracts pertaining to lease acquisition, including farmins, options, pooling agreements and seismic exchange agreements, many involving wells costing between $1 million and $4 million.
- Drafting of limited partnerships and compliance with the Blue Sky requirements of numerous states.
- Team participation in briefing contracts which provided substantial basis for two joint ventures requiring minimum expenditures of $40 million and $100 million each.
This list is not inclusive of all areas of authority, but does provide a fair overview of my responsibilities.
I have, for my own account, acquired real estate properties in the Pasadena metropolitan area valued at approximately three hundred thousand dollars. Two of the properties are rental units for which I handled the leasing. These investments are a reflection of my interest in a career in real estate investment.
