Follow Up After Conference Or Convention For Finance

Every person you meet at a conference is fair game for a follow-up letter. However, the letter has to offer them something: a thank you, an ego stroke, an article from a recent journal, something of interest.

Dear Bob:

It was great to meet you at the Financial Executive Institute's 55th International Conference here in Denver. I thought it was a stimulating meeting and found the sessions most interesting. One of the things I really enjoyed was the opportunity to meet you. I look forward to visiting with you at future conferences and meetings. I trust you enjoyed your stay in Colorado.

I am seeking a permanent position in finance or international business. To help market myself, I have put together the enclosed resume. I am open to any industry with positions located almost anywhere in the world.

Should you be aware of any openings, which might be appropriate for me, I would appreciate you informing me so that I may follow up. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Bruce D. Robertson, C.P.A.
