Kansas City Memorial Hospital has undergone an unexpected reduction in force, and my position was one of many that were eliminated. I did not leave because of performance problems or any other difficulties. All of the administrative team has expressed their sympathy and support, and I am leaving on excellent terms with all of them. Just a few weeks before this, I had received my best performance evaluation ever.

I am now very actively in the marketplace seeking an executive position in Hospital Administration, Information Systems Management, Healthcare Consulting, Strategic Planning, or Management Engineering. My resume is enclosed.

Most recently, I have been responsible for the Information Systems departments: Management Engineering, Patient Care Information System (PCIS), Word Processing, and Data Services liaison (our Data Services department is a corporately provided service and reports directly to the headquarters office in Kansas). The three departments reporting directly to me represented over $.5 million to manage and we came in 5% below budget in 20--.

I am interested in expanding my administrative experience. During the last seven years, I have developed my systems and management skills with a focus on cost efficiency. I have learned effective negotiating skills for contracting and which kinds of automation will generate a substantial reduction in costs or increase in revenue (I have included a summary of the automation savings achieved in 20--). I have also co-developed a successful strategic planning methodology for integrating the hospital's corporate goals with its operational and financial goals as well as its employee performance evaluation program to focus the whole organization on achievement and reward for attaining goals.
